Social distancing Marquees to support Schools opening during Covid -19

Many schools have been able to welcome back all of their pupils to school, thanks to the support of Four Seasons Marquees, an event and marquee company based in the Surrey and Hampshire providing social distancing Marquees .

Many schools remained open throughout the coronavirus pandemic for children of key workers, and two weeks ago teachers were delighted to welcome back Early Years, Year One and Year Six children. When guidance allowed, the remainder of the school began opening up. This came with complex logistics in order to ensure that all classrooms and play areas were safe for students to return to school during Covid-19.

Many primary and secondary schools are short on inside space and so need additional support from a marquee structure provider for covered walkways, canteens and sports halls by sing large tents and marquees. Four Seasons Marquees can provide light and airy spaces with clearspan ceilings & walls to enable a feeling of well-being and freedom for children who have been cooped up inside for too long. Guy Cregeen, company director of Four Seasons Marquees suggests schools choose a frame tent, which offers flexible spaces and is able to withstand intensive use and is resilient against all types of UK weather. These tents can come with lockable doors and attached toilet facilities.  It is easy to extend these tents if schools should need to expand or contract their provision.

Pupils who have been using marquees as classrooms have enjoyed familiarising themselves to the new spaces. Boarded floors can be installed which allows the interior floor to stay off a wet ground (useful for when the winter months creep in) and carpet can be laid down for noise absorption and comfort.

Parents were thrilled to have their youngsters back in education and seeing their friends and teachers again. In years to come when people ask these youngsters how they remember the Covid-19 crisis – being taught in a marquee will be a fond memory at a difficult time. All schools and staff should feel extremely proud of themselves for being able to get all primary years back on site for a few weeks before the summer holidays.

Looking forward to September, we are providing Social distancing marquees and structures for a number of businesses and schools across the country to enable social distancing. Many more bubble groups can be taught safely by erecting a marquee. Pupils have shown remarkable character and resilience over the last term and have adapted to guided home learning brilliantly. However, nothing beats having them all back in school (for parents and children alike).
